And if you're genuinely unsure, rent/lease first. Ask a vendor to let you run a paid pilot project. That sounds basic, but a surprising number of shops skip the pilot because they're in love with the idea of a new toy.

About Those Other 'Printers'

Now about that phone photo printer and that Bambu X1 Carbon 3D printer. They are not competitors to a Komori or a UV printer. The phone photo printer is a sales prop that makes same-day sample prints. We approved it because it cost less than a client meal and it helped our outside sales close a couple of small jobs. The Bambu X1 Carbon 3D printer is another category entirely. It prints with filament layer by layer, not with ink.
